In 1990 VTC produced Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and started an annual tradition of Shakespeare in the Park at the Rotary Amphitheater in Living Memorial Park. 19 years later, 19 productions, 12 different shows, 6 directors, hundreds of actors, thousands of picnickers we are still having fun and we hope you are too.
In 1997 we took our first show out of the park and “on the road” performing Much Ado About Nothing on a baseball diamond in Springfield.  In 1998 we toured to Charlestown, New Hampshire and performed A Midsummer Night’s Dream on the yard at the boarding house of The Foundation for Biblical Research. This was followed by a performance in 1999 at the Charlestown Middle School (thanks to rain), in 2000 on the porch and balcony of the Foundation and in 2001 back in the yard.
In 2000 we were invited to perform at Wilmington’s Memorial Hall. For an audience of over 100 we performed Romeo & Juliet and were invited back for a two night engagement in 2001.
In 2001 our Shakespeare founder, Robert Kramsky, “retired” from doing every summer production. His retirement was short lived and in 2004, he came out of retirement to direct one of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays, Taming of the Shrew and returned again in 2007 for All's Well That Ends Well.
